Preach on! The TARP is finally being pulled back to expose the program for what it really was - a last-ditch raid on the country's coffers before banking's buddy Bush left office. It would be comical if it weren't so damned revolting.

hey! lots of new cartoons! cool. :-)

i think i should point out to you that comments on the newest entry about cyclists are closed. ;-)

my two cents: as an everyday driver, i have to side with both your angle and my own. i think people who think they own the road are in the wrong, but that applies to both drivers and cyclists!

it's very annoying seeing some person driving carelessly and less aware of their surroundings than they should be, and then passing them only to see--surprise surprise--they're on the damn phone. thankfully, it's now against the law to talk on your cell phone without a hands-free headset in california. but people still do talk with the handsets. assholes. i'd honk at them all as i see them, but there are too many for it to be worth it.

my biggest issue with cyclists is the safety issue. i know you could say, "well hey, cars travel at speeds above 60mph on the freeways/highways and they drive in lanes that are really close to each other," but i just feel unsafe and uncomfortable riding in a lane close to a bicyclist. i also even feel wary of people on motorbikes (on the freeway, residential streets, wherever), but at least those folks can outperform me by a longshot since motorbikes have such beefy acceleration. in other words, they don't make me have to brake to half speed and wait sometimes out of concern for their safety, and if they wanted to, they could swerve in between lanes really quickly to avoid getting hit by my car.

you can call me uptight, but when i swerve out of my lane to avoid hitting a cyclist--putting both myself, and possibly my car and the car of the person/the persons who i could hit in the adjacent lane--i have to think, who's at fault here? usually, it feels like the cyclist's fault because they are the least protected out there and most likely candidate for death if something goes wrong--even at speeds as low as 30-40mph! with bike lanes it's more feasible for cyclists to be out there safely, but like i said i feel uncomfortable with somebody on a bike rolling along in my blindspot or something.

california is even worse for respecting pedestrians. in fact, in some places there aren't even crosswalks for pedestrians and it's like what are you expected to to? it's like you're forced into jay-walking, because why? you're not allowed to walk along that road?

sigh. anyway, sorry if this seemed like an unwanted rant or something, but if you don't care i guess you don't have to read it. just my opinion...

looks like those ferraris never get driven.

Purple drank is a slang term for a recreational drug popular in the hip-hop community of the southern United States. Its main ingredient is prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine. Cough syrup is typically mixed with ingredients such as Sprite soft drink and pieces of Jolly Rancher candy, and is traditionally served in styrofoam cups. The purplish hue of purple drank comes from dyes in the cough syrup.

Purple drank is also referred to as sizzurp, "lean," (because it makes you inclined to lean on things), syrup, drank, purple jelly, purple stuff, and "44s," inspired by the Vicks 44 cough syrup.
